 A Red Carpet on Del Playa Drive encouraged individuals who were out to see and be seen to do so in artificial luxury with an audience, paparazzi, hors d'oeuvre and an emcee. The social protocol that allows carousers to walk in the streets in high heels sans jackets in November was ripe for parody, and the street quickly morphed into carnival with the simple addition of a homemade red carpet.
